Let's Get To Flipping With Morgan Linton and Domain Smoke!!
Ever since I got into domaining about 5 years back, I found Morgan Linton's blog and I have been reading it ever since. If you haven't had the chance to subscribe to his blog, please go to MorganLinton.com and join. He has been consistently posting awesome content for many years and he does a great job at keeping things interesting. Morgan got into buying and selling domains back in 2007. Kudos to Morgan for doing a great job and finding such a good balance in life while running the company he co-founded, Bold Metrics and making the time to blog about so many good things that we all can learn from.
Without a doubt Morgan Linton broke the news and Twitter yesterday with one of the kindest acts I have seen in some time. He decided to secretly create and launch a Domain Flipping Competition with the Domain Smoke newsletter. I didn't even know he was doing this until I woke up to so many messages and notifications from many friends and investors. Talk about catching me by surprise. The happiness I felt literally knocked me out of my chair. What a way to really to make someone's day!
This type of challenge has never been done before in our industry. Sound interesting? Yup, this is going to be one fun ride. So entering the competition is simple. First email ml(at)hey.com or contest(at)domainsmoke.com to enter and be added to the list of participants for the competition (Just give your name and email so we can enter you as a contestant). We will be tracking everyone all participates to properly judge the winner. Participating is very simple. The rules are you need buy and sell a name from this listed inside of this newsletter between the dates of 08/01/2020 - 10/30/2020. The person who generates the most profit will be the winner.
Start Date: August 1st, 2020
End Date: October 30th, 2020
Duration: 3 months
Investment cap: $500
At first thought, this was going to be a friendly competition and whoever participated and won, would essentially get the glory and give themselves a pat on the back for doing an awesome job. After the news broke of such an awesome and unique contest, I have received multiple requests for donations of prizes and giveaways. The first and largest gift so far was from Riz of EmpireNames.com. Riz has agreed to offer a $500 cash prize to the winner of this competition and will participate but not take any prizes. Other private investors have offered other cash prizes and other services. Once the dust settles shortly, we will have an organized list of participants and the prizes available for the winners. This content is soon to be legendary and I really hope that you and many other domainers will have the chance to participate.
